Review
The sixth record released by Jason is not another one in the band’s career. It is the most challenging one, because they are recognizable brand name in the world of Metal sung in Spanish. The most notable challenge is the change of the departure of their historical vocalist and the emergence of a novel but surprising Emmanuel Gerbam. He has nothing to envy in their abilities to any vocalist of the genre worldwide. His flow and poise are well used by the compositions of the group, while they are still traditional Heavy Metal melodic, here they sound more intense and sharp. Jason always wanted to return, but needed new blood to mark the renewal shown in “Un Nuevo comienzo” but without losing their magic and essence that always had. The other challenge is to recover the privileged always flaunted in the metal scene. No one will doubt after listening to this album, which fulfills the tradition of being recorded in their own studios with guitarist Ariel Ranieri as their main character. What remains unchanged is the message of struggle and hope that always provided the natives of San Andrés, at this context with subtle sound arrangements which are crucial to wrap up a musical product we can define as “definitive”. And if something else was need to win the challenges ahead of them, the peril is the acoustic reversion of their classic “En lo Alto del Cielo”. Jason is not only alive, is ready to, once again, get to the top.
