The early 1990s saw in Buenos Aires the birth of many metal projects given to the growing popularity of the genre. But a particular name would transcend the boundaries of time and anonymity. In San Andrés, Buenos Aires, grew up those who were self named as Jason, an acronym of Justiciero Arcaico de la Sociedad Nativa. After paddling as any under band, recording demos and taking small shows, they managed to record their first LP produced and distributed by themselves. This was a self-titled one and in cassette format, which was widely used by emerging groups in those years to start their careers . Thereafter, the flight was only up for Jason . During the next two years their name began to be a stable place in the Buenos Aires underground metal scene thanks to be enshrined as revelation band in various national media. It was so that they reached to record a self-managed new LP by the name of ” Justiciero Arcaico ” . In the same year they saw the fruits of their labor and talent as they begin to be part of international shows and had an appropriate national distribution to their CD . It is when they shared the stage with people like Yngwie Malmsteen , Angra and Stratovarius or hold presentations throughout Argentina. Having reached the year 2002 they recorded a third studio album which is definitely enshrined as one of the key names of the Argentine metal movement “En lo Alto del Cielo.” By the hand of the commercial success of the album named ultimately their achieved to play in places not reached before and improve their position in national festivals bills. All this was reflected in the album ” 13 Años” (2004 ), a great summary of the history of the combo so far. Although a couple of years after, in an apparent hiatus due to changes in their lineup and others, it was only in 2009 where they returned with another album named ” Nuevamente ” and recovered the position they had been enjoyed in the scene previously. It was also the moment when they could break the international barriers and take part of festivals from neighboring countries such as the Masters of Metal Lima ( Peru ) and a subsequent South American tour happened . The moment of the group was again unbeatable and given the new technologies available , they recorded and issued a live DVD which it was christened “Buenos Aires Vivo”. Few imagined that 2011 would be the end of an era in the successful career of the band. Again the internal changes, including the departure of their historical voice, put Jason in front of a new challenge that they seem to be determined to overcome, given the results of their latest studio LP in the form of “Un Nuevo Comienzo” and the scheduled dates for all 2014, a year full of expectations for those who are playing among the Argentine scene for more than 20 years.
